  • A - C Monday, 8/31 9:00-11:00am
  • D - J Monday, 8/31 1:00-3:00pm

To all ASFS families, and especially those new to our school and new rising Kindergarten families, we know we are beginning a school year unlike any other, so we are here to help. Please reach out with questions anytime, or if you need any support. Thank you!  --Dena Porter, ASFS PTA President

Stay Engaged & Involved with the ASFS PTA

Join the ASFS PTA: We'd love to have all ASFS community members participate in the PTA to support our school and vote on PTA matters. You can join online, mail your ASFS PTA Membership Form/Dues to ASFS (1501 N Lincoln St Arlington, VA 22201), or contact Dena Porter for information on PTA Membership Sponsorships, new this year so that all families can be part of the PTA.

Opt-in to the ASFS PTA Directory: The online ASFS PTA Directory for 2020-21 will be available after school begins, once families who choose to opt in are updated in ParentVUE as part of the APS Annual Online Verification Process, so you may connect with other ASFS families. With virtual learning this fall, the PTA Directory will be a great way to reach out to parents in your class.

Volunteer to Help: Knowing this year will look very different, we are grateful to our parent volunteers willing to help out. For new families, volunteering your time is a great way to meet other ASFS families (even virtually!) and get involved. Please click to indicate your interests for the coming year: ASFS PTA Volunteer Form (2020-21), or you may download the ASFS PTA Volunteer Form (2020-21) and drop-off/mail your completed form to ASFS.

Box Tops For Education

We're Still a Box Tops School… App Time! ASFS raises money with Box Tops for Education, but instead of clipping certificates, now you'll be scanning your store receipt.

If you haven't already, please download the Box Tops app on your phone, and select ASFS as your school.  You only have to do that part once.

Each time you shop and buy products with the Box Tops symbol, use the app to scan your store receipt after you shop. The app will count the "digital Box Tops" for you. You have to scan within 14 days of your purchase.

It doesn't matter where you shop...Costco, CVS, Safeway, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter...any time you buy a product with the Box Tops symbol, make sure you scan your receipt with the app.  Look for the symbol on your General Mills cereal, Annie's, Nature Valley, Fiber One, Yoplait, and more.

Costco Bonus: if you’re a Costco shopper, you’ll see that many participating products are currently offering “Bonus Box Tops” right now. I just earned an extra 10 Box Tops for ASFS (the equivalent of $1) when I scanned my receipt after buying a package of Cheerios.

Please send me any questions. Amy Hodges, Box Tops Chair
