Electronic Friday Folder -- April 24th, 2020

Greetings from the ASFS PTA

ASFS families, hope you were able to enjoy the spring weather and some time outside for Earth Day this week!

ASFS PTA Ideas & Feedback Follow-up: As we continue to adjust to home learning, thank you to everyone who sent ideas for how ASFS could enhance learning, while staying within the APS curriculum and guidelines. ASFS teachers and staff will use your input to continue to look for ways to increase interaction and offer optional activities for students. We are grateful for everyone's feedback, and we look forward to continuing the conversation this spring as well as plan for the longer-term if needed.

Of the survey responses received, a majority would not support advocating to APS for new content in the 4th quarter. With varying perspectives within our community, we don't have consensus to send a letter on behalf of the PTA, but encourage all parents to reach out to APS via APS Engage and Bridget Loft, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, to share your thoughts.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or for additional details. Knowing this is such a challenging time for all of us, we are thankful to our ASFS teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication to our students, and appreciate all your support as we work through this together.

Thank you! --Dena Porter, ASFS PTA President
