Even if our kids aren't able to enjoy it yet, spring is arriving at ASFS... the new stream in front of our school is finished and looks beautiful! Keep taking care to stay healthy & safe - we will get through this together.  --Dena Porter, ASFS PTA President

2019-20 ASFS Master Calendar Updates

Virginia’s Governor Ralph Northam announced that all public schools in the Commonwealth will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.

Unfortunately, all school-wide and PTA social events are canceled for the remainder of the school year. However, per updated Virginia PTA guidelines, we plan to host the rest of our ASFS PTA meetings for 2019-20 via video conferencing. Please keep Tuesday, April 14th at 7:00pm on your calendar for the April ASFS PTA Meeting, and stay tuned for details.

For the complete 2019-2020 calendar, please visit the ASFS Master Calendar

ASFS PTA Letter to the Arlington School Board

Even during this uncertain time, we continue to consider the best interests of our ASFS students. With four new trailers confirmed for next year to support our growing enrollment, APS has communicated that they will be placed on the blacktop, which will significantly reduce the outside play space for our students.

Thanks to the support of our ASFS community, the ASFS PTA Executive Board has sent the below letter to the Arlington School Board on behalf of the ASFS PTA to request that APS places the new trailers on the ASFS parking lot, rather than school blacktop as currently planned.

Parents are also welcome and encouraged to contact the School Board directly or email engage@apsva.us with your thoughts and feedback. Thank you for your support!
