Tomorrow: Hasbro & Lego Toy Takeback Day - Saturday, 3/7

Spring Sustainability Hasbro & Lego Toy Takeback Day: Saturday, March 7th 9:30am-12:30pm

ASFS, Taylor ES, and Dorothy Hamm MS are partnering to bring you a great opportunity to recycle and reuse your well loved Hasbro toys and Lego bricks and mini figures. All you need to do is bring your Hasbro branded toys, like Mr. Potato Head, My Little Pony, and Beyblades (see the attached for a complete list of acceptable Hasbro toys) and/or Lego bricks and mini-figures to Taylor School's Music Room (enter through front lobby), 2600 N. Stuart St, Arlington, VA 22207, anytime between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday, March 7th.  The Hasbro toys will be sent to TerraCycle for recycling (separated by composition (plastics, metals, organics) and processed into raw materials), and the Legos will be cleaned and re-used by APS library and technology programs. Give your old things new life! There is no cost to participate in this program - shipping is provided by Hasbro and Terracycle. Contact green@taylorpta.org for more information.

Volunteers Needed! We also need donations of flattened shipping boxes and volunteers to sort the toys and take them to the post office; children are welcome to participate.  If you can help, please click to sign up: Hasbro & Lego Toy Takeback Day Volunteer Sign-up

Arlington School Board Candidate Night - Monday, 3/9

The Lyon Village Civic Association is hosting a School Board Candidate Night on Monday, March 9th at 8:00pm at the Lyon Village Community House (1920 N. Highland St.)  This is your opportunity to hear from all six School Board candidates and ask questions on the issues you are most concerned about. This is an unusual year as two current School Board members are not running for re-election, so two new School Board members will be elected.
