Volunteers Needed! ASFS STEM Night - Wednesday, 2/12

Save the Date! Family STEM Night, Wednesday, February 12th (6:30-8:00pm)

Please join us for our annual Family STEM Night on Wednesday, February 12th from 6:30-8:00pm! Some of the highlights of the event include: engineering challenges, coding activities, a simulated mission with the space shuttle simulator, demonstrations from our two First Lego League teams, and more! Our school was awarded a grant from the National PTA this year to help fund additional activities, so we'll be adding some fun science experiment stations as well!

Volunteers Needed! Parents, your help is greatly needed to help make our Family STEM Night a success!

Because we have the addition of science experiment stations this year, we are looking for as many volunteers as possible. If you can help with either set-up, greeting, manning the different STEM challenges/stations, and/or clean-up, please click here to sign-up: ASFS STEM Night Volunteer Sign-up, or you can e-mail Ms. Lin. We split up the night into two shifts (6:15-7:15pm and 7:15-8:15pm) so that you have some time to enjoy the STEM night with your child. Thanks so much!

Seeking STEM Night PTA Lead/Planning Team Members: We are thrilled to have won the National PTA STEM + Families Science Festival Grant sponsored by Bayer! We are looking for a PTA lead and anyone interested in joining the planning team to coordinate the extra activities we will be supporting at STEM Night this year, including a welcome table, student passports, raffle prizes, decorations, photos, and more. If you would like to help out, please email Dena Porter - thank you!

From the PE Team: Last Chance for Speed Stacks!

The ASFS PE Department finished a unit about Speed Stacking. Students had the opportunity to purchase their own stacks cheaper than can be found online or in stores. Some students mentioned that they didn't get a chance and forgot. Attached you will find the form. We still have some sets left, but they will be sent back on February 23rd. Please see the attached form for information. Cash and checks made payable to ASFS can be brought to the gym and students receive the equipment immediately. Contact Ms. Hall with any questions.

Search for New Permanent APS Superintendent
