Family Night at the ASFS Book Fair - Wednesday, December 5th

Special Guest Storyteller Event! We are thrilled to announce that award winning storyteller, Gary Lloyd, member of the National Storytelling Network, will share his renowned storytelling talents with our school community as part of Family Night at the ASFS Book Fair. Mark your calendar for this special family-friendly evening!

Can't stop by during the day? Want to shop with your kids? Join us for Family Night at the ASFS Book Fair on Wednesday, December 5th from 6:00-7:30pm. Support our school while shopping for books and enjoying the magic of Gary Lloyd's engaging and entertaining story-telling during this after-hours evening at the annual ASFS Book Fair.

ASFS Book Fair: Monday, December 3rd - Friday, December 7th

Did you know that the book fair raises money for books and other things?  We use Bedford Falls, and a healthy percentage of all sales come back to ASFS in the form of cash for the PTA and in lots of new books for our library and classroom collections. Donations are also accepted to be sure that every child at ASFS has a new book to read. The book fair is a great way to support reading at home and school and even get some holiday shopping done!

Did you know all students will visit the book fair? The students visit the book fair Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday at a scheduled time with their class. They have an opportunity to browse through the selections, and complete a Student Book Fair Wish List. They bring their wish list home and share it with their family, or talk about what books they are interested in reading. Students can return with money to purchase books on their own, and/or families are welcome to visit the book fair during the open hours, which includes before and after school, as well as family night on December 6th.

Did you know that the teachers also have book wish lists? These are books the teachers think would be a useful addition to their classroom libraries. This information will be in the library with the book fair. Students can purchase the wish list items and deliver the new books to their teachers!

Did you know you can help? In addition to shopping, parents can also volunteer to help at the book fair.  It’s a great way to volunteer as you get to be surrounded by wonderful books, and see the children’s excitement as they visit the book fair. You can sign up for 2 hours (or more) December 3rd-7th, including evening hours on Wednesday, December 5th for our Family Night, using the following link: Volunteer for the ASFS Book FairPlease contact Michelle Brydges with any questions.

Tasting New Traditions This Holiday Season

The holidays are all about creating memories and making traditions. Enjoy learning about the traditions of fellow ASFS families and recipes that have been in their families for years. Ever wonder how to make pasta from scratch and how a broom can help? Curious about what is in Ms. Jones' power smoothies, or still curious how to make authentic Thai, Indian or even Hong Kong dishes? Our incredible cookbook truly takes your taste buds around the world with shared family recipes. Support our school and fill your holiday table with new, indulgent recipes to start new traditions.

Cookbooks make the perfect gift for friends, family and ASFS staff. Each purchase will entitle you to an entry for exciting raffle prizes. If a cookbook is purchased for an ASFS staff member they can be entered for the raffle as well.

Cookbooks can be purchased at the Book Fair or by contacting Jennifer Bethel. Cookbooks are $25 and directly go to supporting our school.
