Art in the Classroom

Welcome to Art in the Classroom!

Art in the Classroom is a PTA program designed to increase the exposure of ASFS children to the visual arts. Through monthly parent-led programs, children are:

  • Exposed to a wide variety of artists and artistic styles and movements.
  • Given the opportunity to experiment with a range of artistic materials and media through projects that allow them to experiment with the style or technique used by a particular artist.
  • Exposed to related history and geography as well as often math and science.
  • Given a fun outlet to express themselves.

Volunteers Needed!

Each classroom needs classroom volunteers to teach workshop each month as well as a classroom coordinator to coordinate the schedule.

The hour-long workshop involves a quick background about the artist and then a fun, hands-on art project to get the students engaged.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child's classroom teacher to schedule your workshop. If you have any questions, please contact the ASFS Art in the Classroom Coordinator.

No experience or
previous knowledge
of art
is necessary!
